i used to believe that i am a very patient person. actually i am more of the tolerating one. for example, i have the talent of waiting in the car for a good one and a half hour while my husband drops by somewhere to take care of some business that would take only "a few minutes." but when he comes back, i would still be calm. i'll simply ask him how it went. or when my hair turned out to be orange rather than light bronze as shown on the package of the L'oreal hair color i just bought. i just frowned but thought that i'll just color it again. well, i thought i was patient until last week when we attended a party of one my husband's friends. i was talking to one of the girls i know there when an old acquiantance came up to me to say a short hi (we haven't seen each other for quite some time) both ladies nodded at each other which surprised me because they both belong to different circles. but suddenly, before my old friend finished saying her goodbye the previous girl just grabbed my hand and pulled me away from her which i didn't find nice but was still ok. then i asked her if she knew the other girl well. then she suddenly flipped out. started talking loud about why i asked her that, what do i now, blah blah blah. the she pushed me and walked away. that very moment i was about to grab her shirt but one of the boys who saw the drama stopped me. i knew that if i was able to grab her, i would really have beaten her good. well there goes my so called "patience." we just left the party because i know that i was unstoppable. she said sorry the next day but i still think that she was dumb for doing something like that to me. how are about you? do u have any last-straw-story?

I am always on the last straw story. i feel like that is what my whole life is like. As the years go by though I am really starting to control it better but I think I am like you and every now and again just have to let it all go. The horrible thing is the shame for your behavious after it is over

yeah you're right. though in my case, it she was she who was eaten by shame. she was endlessly apologizing to me the next day.

As I have grown older I find I am a lot more patient than when I was young, however I do tend to be assertive in certain situations. I would never be violent towards someone but still sometimes feel inside I'd like to punch them. In fact the weirdest thing happened this week. A woman I dislike who in the past have been stopped from hurting and who I would love to be nasty too I learnt has a broken nose and two blacks eyes where someone did punch her so just maybe the thought process made this happen who knows.

Patience can be practiced many different ways. Most times I am not very patient but I have a two year old that hasnt been feeling well and I have been extremely patient while she whines and cries and blah blah. You had every right to lose it then because the girl put her hands on you. That isn't patience that is your temper. I would have had a tough time with that situation.

thanks for the comment. such patience like yours is the one i truly admire. personally, a mother's patience is the superlative of all patience.

Often i dont have very much patience, since im to oriented around seing results or making things happen, need to train on getting more patience but i dont know how. Also sometimes have a little to high expectations on others and can be mechanical so i dont think i have a very high patience level.
