My husbands step daughter has a nine month old little boy who is under weight. I have run out of ideas on what to give him. He also has an issue with chocking. She has tried giving him the baby cookies and such but he is still choking on them. Please if anyone has any ideas let me know.

has the doctor said he's underweight and given any suggestions. my daughter was a preemie and born at 2 pounds 2 ounces. when she was about 7 months or so i had to give her those pediashure drinks cause that would help her gain weight and when i'd make babyfood i'd have to put butter in everything. it's what the doctor recommended but just make sure before you do anything contact the child's doctor

She's been to the doctor but they don't say anything. They have not told her what to give him. All they tell her is that he is underweight. If it was me I'd be asking a lot of questions but she has not. So here I am tring to help her out from 1500 miles away.

Have you tried giving him mashed food that is more fatty than other foods, such as mashed potato and minced beef with vegatables in too(all mashed together). What about sausage meat(not the skin). Have you tried giving him full fat yogurt inbetween meal times because. Giving him fresh fruit juice at meal times would also help him absorb all the essential parts of the food. Has she took him to the doctors or asked the health visitor, because they may have some helpful advice on helping them put on weight. ~Joeys wife.
