how do i go about selling my pictures

I have always loved taking pictures and just recently thought about doing it for a little extra cash.How do I sell photos for real estate,post cards, calanders, and magazines?How about as a photographer for parites and weddings?I ll take whatever.

One good thing about photography is that there are more books about the business of photography than any other subject I know of. If you just want to make alittle extra cash then a great place to start is the "Photographers Market" It comes out every year and it is like a phone book for buyers of photography. I have the 2005 edition and it's almost 650 pages. You might find a year or two old edition in a used book store or I think it's about 25USD new. I am assuming you are in America. or you could hop around on the web and try to find this info but I think the PhM is a great place to begin, it has more info than anyone could use in several years.

That should read ..."phonebook OF buyers of photography". They give you contact info what they buy how much they buy. It has articles about how to present your work blablabla I could go on but i'll spare you :)

thank you i will look for one.we have a book store in town i will look and see if they have one there.
