An officer got a huge surprised when he found out the car that he escorted to the hospital was a stolen car and the lady that was in it was not pregnant. LOL! York Police Sgt. Brian Curtin said officers ran a computer check on the license plate en route to the hospital and discovered the Volkswagen Jetta had been stolen. Charged with receiving stolen property was 23-year-old Richard Saunders of Somersworth, N.H. Officers initially stopped the car Monday night because a taillight was out, but agreed to escort the vehicle after the driver said his passenger was in labor. I thought normally police would always check the registration and other stuffs first. Thats absolutely hilarious!! I guess it goes to show no matter how much authority you have you can make mistakes! He could have been escorting an excape convict. This might bring up the question of how much do the police really protect us?
