as the first responder said its an electronic data markings in your email and other. Just imagine it as your personal logo or trademark

The signature that I guess is called a digital signature is the permanent saying or whatever you add at the bottom of emails or posts as in my emails i have the links to my webpage, they come up automatically on the bottom of every email i send.
