Depo shot

That happened to me too at first, but eventually it went away altogether which was VERY nice.

Hi rivergirl. I have been on the depo shot now 3 xs. In the beginning when I first got it the nurse did tell me that you can spot for longer then a normal period..Also I was told that dark blood is also normal to see as it's your uterine call cleaning itself. I believe is the term..I spotted alot in the first 6 months of the depo shot sometimes for 3 weeks at a time and the nurse even heard of women spotting for the entire 3 months. It will taper off and go away..I had my third shot back in December and spotted a week or 2 before it and have seen nothing since..They say that the spotting can last up to a year for the first year and then after that it all goes away I hope this helps.

I did not have a good experience on depo. I think I had every bad side effect possible when I was on it! Personally I would stay away from depo, but there are a lot of women who love it.

I had depo shot last October but was advised not to have another one since I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. The effect of the depo will expire this month and I habve been having my period for a month now. It's not just spot because it is quite heavy. My OB said that its either you'll have your period or not. Blood spotting is just normal with the depo shot.
