Why won't politicians ever talk about Cuba?

As we know there is panic and fear that the American economy is in for a recession. We also are aware of our ever increasing national debt. And their plan is to just give checks to citizens to stimulate the economy (when chances are those receiving checks will just pay off debts instead...further hurting the economy). So why can we not just end the embargo with Cuba. Politicians are grown men. America is a grown country. Can we not man up and realize the Cold War is long past us? Is there any reason to not open up Cuba for trade, which would allow us to also help stimulate our economy as well as Cuba's and possibly pull them from poverty (because we all know America loves helping others...)?
