Does anyone here have Fibromyalgia? If so how long and what has seemed to help you? What helps you get from day today. I know this is an illness that effects most people some what differently, and what might work for one person, may not for another. And even more over what might help you today might not tomorrow. But if we share, we might just help one another. Myself - I have had fibro for more than 15 years. I have spent thousands of dollars trying to get relief. I have been seen by one of the nations leading doctors on fibro, CFIDS, and pain. Yet to no avail - I still suffer everyday. So how do you cope? What do you do to get from one to the nest?

I don't have Fibro, but I have Chronic Fatigue which is just as much fun and has a lot of the same symptoms and doesn't have a cure either. Sometimes they go hand in hand too. A lot of people with Fibro have Chronic Fatigue too. Some days you just have to yank youself out of your chair and force yourself to go out and do something so that you don't veg. out. I can empathize with you even though I do not have the exact same thing. Keep the faith! Shalom~Adoniah

For lack of a better word - my condolences to you as well. CFIDS is horrible all by itself as well. And yes they are very similar and share alot of symptoms. A doctors once shared with me a diagram of sorts - it was of 2 - three quarter circles drawn out - facing each other. One one of the partial circles were written all the fibro symptoms, and on the other all the CFIDS symptom ( granted I say all - but really mean all that was known or recognized at the time !!). It was amazing to see how these two over lapped, with only a few symptoms distinctive to one disorder or the other. It certainly helped me to understand that each of them are disorders all there own, yet so very similar. It also shed alot of light on how they can be confused with one another, and even how a person can have both disorders. For me - I was diagnosed with CFIDS first. Several years later fibro was diagnosed as well when muscle knotting began to become so prominent and many of my internal organs began to be effected. These are not easy disorders to deal with. They can wreck your life and those around you. As for me - I was always a very active, outgoing person. I used weight train and be in great shape. Not anymore!!!! I still work and stay as active as possible - but as you probably well know - it is not easy to do. For some days I can bite the bullet and push through the pain and fatigue - while others , well sometimes nothing can get you through it.

Resist the temptation to stay in bed. If you gain weight it just gets worse and worse. The more light exercise you can do the better off you will be. I am aware of how hard it is because on top of the chronic fatigue I also have some sort of muscle wasting problem. I have lost over 40 lbs and it is all muscle. No matter how I try I cannot seem to build it back. It is very worrisome. It seems that with these disorders there are new surprises every week! At least it is not boring.lol Shalom

I have a cousin with Fibromyalgia. She is very brave and forces herself to get up and move around. She said that if she did not force herself, she may not get up. She is so very brave. She is in so much pain but she does not give up. I hope you can find some relief

Thank You for your response. Your cousin sounds very brave. I certainly understand what she is saying about movement. It is a shame that we hurt is we move and hurt if we don't. Besy of luck to her and you as well.
