Have you ever tried riding on a bicycle? What age did you make your first ride?

It was only in elementary that I have tried to ride a bicycle for the first time. I could still vividly picture out that I did not make it at first, in fact, I got some bruises from falling down in the bicycle but I never give up. I tried and finally I learned to ride one. That was in grade four, now I'm riding a motorcycle of my own, hoping to have my own sports car sooner or later. I wish! How about you? when was your first ride? could you still remember it?

well, I tried it when I was about 9 years old, didn't succeeded and gave up :(. Actually I was kind of athletic in the school, was practicing acrobatics, and every time I tell someone I can't ride the bike, they are very surprisingly looking at me. But I never had someone to help me with that - so I remained without this skill.

Oh, what a sad note from you. You could have enjoyed riding a bicycle if you learn it when you was younger. Anyway, although you don't know this skill but for sure, I know you other things, which you loved to do so much. Thank you for sharing your experience and responding to this discussion. :)

Hello senses, I actually started with tricycle at the age of 2 when my father bought me one. My first experience with bicycle was in my 2nd grade (below 7 years of age). I thoroughly remember the whole experience, the day, the environment, the size, shape and color of bicycle, the clothes I and my friend, who helped me learn, were wearing and the ground I learnt it on. We actually rented a small bicycle. My friend, who is elder than me, already knew how to ride. He held my hands as I tried to balance myself and paddled it. Then after 10 minutes of this trying, I got some confidence and my friend didn't continue holding my hands but he still was holding the carrier (back side), so that if I lose balance, he can help maintain it. After an hour the time was over but we re-rented it for another hour. And, in two hours, I was riding it like anything.

It was a little late for me, I was 15 when I learned to ride a bike. My parents didin't want me to ride a bike when I was younger then. So when I got the chance to learn with a cousin when I was 15, so I learned to ride one. Now I'm learning to ride a motorbike with my husband. He is teaching me and I now can do itbut not much.

I think I learned how to ride a bicycle when I was about 6 years old. I have had my fair share of bruises thanks to it both at that age and later.I don't remember my first ride, but got other memories conneced to bicycles. I specially remember when I found out how to do it without hands... And some how I managed to drive off the road with ended in a huge bruise across my stomach. Ouch! I, like you, had a motorcycle too. Sadly I don't anymore. Mostly moving around in my own car now, but on occasion I take my bicycle out for a ride too.

"I think I learned how to ride a bicycle when I was about 6 years old." Great for you that you learn at that early age. You did try a trick having it without holding the bicycle with two hands. Impressive!

The first time I tried to ride a bicycle was when I was 3 or 4 years old. My dad gave me one with training wheels for my birthday and I loved it. My nanny had to be with me at all times though. But it was my favorite toy then. The training wheels were taken off when I was 6. I remembered that day. I was so scared that I would fall. But my dad kept on reassuring me that he would guide me all the way. So, he got his big screwdriver and took them off. I had a rocky start, I remember falling every time he let me go. Until eventually, I got the hang of it and I was able to ride on my soon. It took me about a 3 days to practice it. After that, I would go out to bike in our subdivision almost everyday after class. The roads were still made of rocks then so I would always come home with a lot of bruises crying. But after those heal, I'd be back on my bike all over again. Those were the days.

I have for so many times in my life because I really wanted to ride a motorcycle but they say I have to know how to ride on a bicycle because it’s where it’s best to start practicing. When I tried, it took me how many times to balance myself for me to go on but day after day, I’m aching all over and never learned how to. I know how to drive four wheels never two-wheels. How I wish I would before I die.

I remember my first ride, I was 6 years old and I pushed my father away so that I can handle on my own. I did it right but after a couple of metres I lost control of the wheel and felt. I remember my neighbours trying to help me but I said I'm fine and got on it again. I never gave up until I finally learnt how to ride it. Then after that I though my friends too.

I don't remember much about first learning to ride a bike, other than I had training wheels, and eventually took them off. By the time I got to college I hadn't ridden a bike in years, and though I could still do it, it took me awhile to get comfortable with it again. Also, my college bike was the first one I've ridden that had multiple speeds. Now, I love riding my bike as many places as I can.

My mom tried and tried to teach me how to ride a bike and I just couldn't get the hang of it. I was 8 years old when I finally learned. The neighbor a few doors down was in the 5th or 6th grade and she taught me. I don't know if I learned because I was older or because I didn't want to look dumb in front of her. She didn't let me give up like my mom would either. My brother learned when he was 5. He just put his bike on the top of a small hill and rode down, he kept doing it until he got the hang of it. We lived in the country then though. We lived in the city when I had to learn!

I rode bikes a lot when I was 8-10 years old, but I went through an extremely accident-prone phase, and hurt myself a lot. I haven't rode bikes much, or at al since then . :p

I learned to ride my bike when I was 7 or so. I started with training wheels and then gradually proceeded to take them off! It was a blast. I still remember riding my bike for the first time and the wind in my hair.

I actually picked riding the bike up pretty easily....I remember when i was really young riding my bicycle and I was trying to ride pretty fast and I remember vividly hitting something in the middle of the road and going over the handlebars. I remember it hurt alot but by that evening i was back on the bicycle trying it again. I also remember trying to do a "wheelie" and I fell I don't know how many times trying that stunt. I think that's what hurts the most because you are trying to pull the bike back onto one wheel and when you start to fall backwards your natural reaction is to hold on so not only do you fall onto your back but you pull the bike down onto you. But last time I rode a bike I loved it.

Well I know how to ride a bike. I was a little kid when I started riding but now I really dont like riding bikes because its really uncomfortible for me to ride a bike. I havent ridden one for several years. Its just the seats are to small for my big butt lol which makes it uncomfortible for me to ride plus there not soft you have to buy a jell seat to make it comfortible to ride a bike. But for now I just ride my stationary bike at home and at the gym for exercise.
