Unemployment

We laid a couple people off and I am wondering where I can find out if they are collecting unemployment. I sent in the paper work that they should be collecting and I get a statement of charges every month but one of the guys isn't on it. Does that mean he isn't collecting? Please let me know any information you can. Or where I can go to get it. Thanks!

yes, he isn't collecting or he may have an extending waiting period. if you ahve some time on your hands, call the EDD and get the information from them over the phone, the statements are pretty hard to figure out and may not be up to date

Thank you. I would think the satement would be good by now he left in October. See we want to see if he is collecting because we don't have a lack of work any more and have tried to get a hold of him to tell him he needs to come back to work. We just don't want him collecting against us if we have the work for him. Thanks again for your help.
