alternative treatment or management for asthma

my wife has asthma and i really feel helpless when she has an attack and i am really tired with the usual paliative, symptomatic treatment offerd by the conventional medical approach. could anyone suggest an effective alternative treatment?

If the medicine(s) she is currently taking isn't helping, then she needs to find another doctor. Asthma is a very serious, life threatening condition. Alternative treatments can be used in conjunction with traditional medicine, but please take her condition seriously. Asthma kills.
