Do you have problem getting a computer acces? Most of the time I am at home or go to the Public library where the computers are free to the public..you sign on and get an hour for free and can stay longer if there is no one in line behind you. My wife and I share our computer and I let her play games like literati..as she does not converse my on my lot ..but she is from the Philppines and has a lot of Filipina friends in the US..but she prefers the phone to communicate...good..more time for me lol

We use to, had to go to the library and use the computer. Back then it was before mylot or even myspace, so all I did was check my mail.. Now I have a computer at home and as long as no one else needs on, I am usually online..:)

Ironically, we had problems the last 3 days, so I had no computer access.. I share this computer with my daughter and sometimes my son and husband get on. But I get the weekday mornings because no one is here or up yet..:)

You are right, the commercials are enough that I have more or less stopped watching TV other than a very few shows...

I'm lucky to have access to the computer at home where I currently stay. However, at times I go around the country to visit other places and I have no choice but to use public computers. Well, it's not that hard really to find computer shops in the Philippines this time. If you're stay near the town center you can always have access to computers. Free internet for you? Lucky you have those privileges. I wish we could have the same here in the Philippines.

It's true, you pay more taxes but you get your money back through services like free internet which is technically not free basing on what you wrote. I agree we can't really envy the tax free citizens. This age is really making things better and easier but only if you get to keep up with the pace. There are still many people in my country who are my age and have zero knowledge with computers. But they don't seem to care. Life still goes on for them.

no, lucky you as you are 32..and brand new..that is what i used to say when i was 32..but i would trade places to be 32..again..as both my wife and I are retired..and I am 63..but the computer any place is still a miracle to me as I first worked with UNIVAC when I was in the Air Force in 1965..in Texas and Northern Michigan and for four years..but it was nothing compared to what you have now...punch cards, card sorters, reels of tape.? well, it was all state of the art..but when you are still young like you are is the lucky one I think..free internet means I pay $124.00 a month for AT&T service for internet, cable TV (yes we get PHilippine TV -Wowee?) and phone..but long distance I use Penny Talk as this is phone card for one penny a minute..and the library free computer?..that is also deducted in my taxes on my house...which comes due twice a year..but water, electric, sewar, gas etc etc..there is always maintenance fees..sales tax income tax..we have the stuff but nothing is free...my wife learned a lot and she lived in Japan for six years...when you live in the US...unless you are in Jail..like one in a hundrend in the US..nothing is free..maybe the homeless? but they are the exception..no job, no mortage, no boss, no worries..as they put them up at taxpayers expense..but i still do not envy there lot..as the average homeless is only eight years old..believe this or not

Sorry for that. I bought a laptop the year before last year . Before that I share a desktop with my daughter. Most of the time she used it and I had to go to my office to surf on the internet. Now both of us have our own computer .

yes, it just me and my wife who use the dell in our basement..and she just checks her e-mail or puts in a resume to be a nanny..she has done this most of her working life..in Negros Occidental, Silay, Manila, Forbes Park, Phil. Tokyo, Japan and Washington DC..but only new born babies up to two years old...then she moves on ...but i have had a computer since 1990-s? well, the newer ones are always better...but I used to use the ones in the public library but I just go there now to read the magazines, various newpapers, and take out books, books on tape DVD's etc...but since I pay city and state taxes..this is all part of my tax money...even fines for speeding and traffic violations go to the support of the local libraries..in the end we all are paying for this privledge..so might as well use it..as i am retired and have more time then money...have a nice day

Yes this think of Public computers that can be used is cool but in my country there is no time limit you just go to a library of your school, or other Public Library and you can stay there all the time you want.

hey, i too like the public library even though i have computer access at home..i dated a girl from malta..and i was in the air force and we would spend a day at Macinaw Island..an island by where i was based in the Air Force..she and her sisters and friends (all girls) had a good time..but she was engaged at the time and we just spent one night by the Mancinaw Bridege...it was very romantic and we just hugged and kissed but she had big ballons (lol) and had a pretty smile..but her sister was jealous and told the others that she was mad at her older sister as sshe was such a flirt..but we did not do anything real bad..we just had a fun time and when she got home to Roseville, Michigan she sent me a pound of chocolate fudge..she was a real nice girl and I never forget our one night of romantic fun..*sigh*...better to have loved and lost then never loved at all...

I have access to the computer both at work and at home. My husband has his laptop to do his work and normally we are not after games but after work on the computer. I access the net basically to study sharemarket related information to take my decisons related to investment. He too works for his business decisions.

I am glad someone is using the computer to a good purpose. Most of the computers are just for entertainment and enlightenment but I am glad your husband is a shrewd investor. investigate before you invest. thanks for your post.

Hello there, we do not have any problem getting a computer access but we have to pay for it. And there is no free usage for us or pensioners in our city. So you are quite lucky to have the free service by accessing the computer. Besides, it is good for either you or your wife to play games or using computer more often that will keep you both busy and your mind working. Enjoy your retirement.

Yes I have my own computer, It is very old though, Windows 1998. I want to upgrade or get a new one. It runs too slow.

if you upgrade make sure you have enough RAM to run the new operating system..i had Windows ME and up graded to XP windows and it worked but was slow..like yours and i just had to delete files that were cluttering up space but it worked good enough for my purpose...now i have a new dell...with vista operating system and instead of the 128 ram..it requires at least 2 giga of RAM..the new operating system vista takes a lot of RAM...but i still have my old computer and it is old like yours..but I been thinking of running it too...with a router its possible..but I have problems with the new system too..newer is not always better..sad to say

I used to use the computers at the library or at our local university's library. I like the university library because they weren't filtered and you could download things. Now, I have my own computer and only use those public computers if there's something wrong with mine. Nowadays, computers have become more affordable and internet access can be fairly cheap in some areas. There are a lot of good, used computers that are lasting longer and are great for websurfing or e-mail. It used to be that you had to get a new computer every year or two to keep up, but I am using a computer that's at least 5 years old and I can watch videos and handle photos just fine.

yes, the newer computer have all the whistles and bells..and with the new Vista software you can do a lot of stuff that was impossible with the older models..i don't use the library too often..just to borrow DVD's , read a lot of magazines and newspapers and for visiting with my friends...sometimes it is nice to get out of the house...its either the library or the YMCA..have a nice day

No, I don't have problems getting access to my computer, but I live alone. I don't know if it would bother me if I couldn't get on my computer any time I wanted to, but it might. I've never used one at the library.

I never really had trouble getting computer access, however! When it came down to the type of internet we used we only have the choice of dialup! See, it's kind of convenient though as I have a computer set up in my bedroom & a tv tray that has a keyboard and mouse on it so everything but the internet is perfect, even the monitor is huge!

I am very lucky to have computer online access at home which means I can go online anytime day or night. My partner does not live with me and my son too young and older girls at university so I usually have it all to myself. Found it frustrating using the library as by the time I had found what I was looking for my hour would be up and as a busy library always someone waiting in line. Good for you that you wife prefers to chat over the phone though really. Ellie:D
