I have a Dell Latitude Laptop, which runs on Window Vista. I've had it for about six months and so far I'm pretty happy with it. I also attend Virginia Tech, where we use all Mac computers. To be honest I can't tell a whole lot of difference. I can see how MAC could be easier to use for someone who doesn't use computers very often, but if you have been around Windows, then you "know the ropes." It really just depends on each person's preference. I like them both. As far as PC vs. Laptop: I say go with a laptop. They are a little more expensive, but to me, having the versatility is worth the price.

haha. yeah. I had a DELL desktop and i m quite alrite with it. Juz abit noisy when i run too many programs. But windows vista. Is it good? I last remeber was due to lots of bugs in vista. I tried once. Some XP programs aint able to run in vista and seems like vista needs a long time to catch up with XP. Regarding the MAC don't get virus. Well, erm, i do not see macintosh havin virus as yet most likely due to its small population share like linux comparing to windows. Yup. So it is not very fair to compare windows with mac os

hello mare73, trully I'm more prefer using laptop than a desktop computer, but what can i do, at last, budget hold everything, and since my computer budget is pretty low, I could not afford to buy laptop until now, so I'm still using a desktop pc for my dailly activity, and if we talk about operating system that I prefer to use, actually still windows xp, I'm not really interesting using mac at all, some of my reason are since I'm not a graphic designer, so using a pc is pretty well for me, the other reason is using mac, there is a little software option for me, almost every software were made to works with windows based, some of it only made for mac, and the other reason, sorry no offence for the mac users and mac lovers, and I'm more like linux compare to mac also, since it free, hehehehehe just for trying using other OS than windows.

Well. It would depends on what you wanna do with your new computer. If you are those who need to be always on the move, laptop is beta. But if for home use, desktop would b certainly beta. Mac or windows. Erm. Mac is roughly more for computer graphics design use and all. It is kinda not so internet friendly as well. Since most of the websites are tuned for IE friendliness. Even mozilla firefox also has problems viewing certain sites. However, windows has it own share of problems as well. Windows is rather unstable due to virus appearing. So regarding which to use. It is more down to your budget.

I've always preferred a PC since it usually has more storage capabilities than a laptop (basically, more hard drive space). Besides that, I prefer using the mouse over the touchpad. I don't have any trouble using a laptop's touchpad; I just prefer a mouse, that's all. (and yes I know I can just buy a mouse and hook it up to the laptop, yes, yes, I know) However, a laptop is much more convenient for doing work on the road, or even for taking it out to a cafe or a better working environment than home. I'm thinking of investing in a laptop soon. As far as the differences between Windows and Mac... I prefer Windows. I know it's a lame reason, but I've used Windows all my life, so I'm accustomed to it.
