Okay, so whenever it rains, my dogs refuse to go outside. I find accidents all over the place. The backyard is covered, so even though it is raining, the dogs will not get wet. I'm so frusterated, and after a week of rain, and more in the forcast, well, my husband is ready to kick the dogs out. Any suggestions from you dog loving souls?

Are you just letting them out or taking them out? You need to take them out on a leash and stay outside with them until they go and then praise them (verbal or food rewards, whatever they respond better to). I know it's no fun to stay out in the rain but it's just something that has to be done as a dog owner. My pup hated the rain too but after some times of him getting soaking wet when I refused to let him back inside before he did what he was supposed to, he learned that he should hurry up instead.

I've been taking them out on a leash, but they still refuse. I'm kind of at wits end with them! LOL

I think your dogs are afraid of the rain and thunder thats why they refuse to go out dispite the backyard being covered. Could you put your dogs on a leash and bring them to the backyard? like they were going for a walk? My dog is paper trained so she will not go even on walks and I am still trying to figure out how to make her go. I don't quite like the idea of her pooping and peeing in the house(even if it is on newspaper).

I've tried the leash numerous times, and they basically sit down, and you have to almost drag them out. Once out, they refuse to go. It is bordering on ridiculous! (Thank heavens it hasn't rained for the past two days!)
