I need some ideas on indoor activities I can do with my 3 and 5 year old on days we can't go outside. We do arts and crafts but its sooooo messy. We do playdougth too but that doesn't keep their attention long. I asked my 5 year old if he liked puzzles and he said, "not too much, but it's better than coloring" haha Does anyone know of any indoor games or something. Thanks

Here is an article I wrote with some suggestions. It can be tough to get through those days, but remember to try to do at least a little bit of active play each day to use up some of their energy. http://www.helium.com/tm/773982/rainy-outside-other-exercise

Simple board games like Monopoly JR, Chutes & Ladders, and Candy Land would probably interest the 5yo, not sure about the 3yo. My 5yo loves making puppets (w/lunch size paper bags) and then putting on a puppet show.

you can build a fort out of blankets and chairs and let them play in that with their stuffed animals and pillows you can play board games - you can get good ones cheap at thrift stores - games like guess who, candyland, don't spill the beans are good ones for that age... you could let them play computer games at nickjr.com and pbskids.org... you can save boxes (like mac & cheese boxes or other similiar things) and use them to build things out of There is hide and seek... you could have them cut stuff out of magazines & then use glue sticks for them to make their own stories you can spread shaving cream on the table and let them "finger paint" Sometimes we pretend we are in a band...I give my son different things to use as a drum set or let him bang on the keyboard...you can download a program called audacity and actually record whatever music they make to share with people... You can always make up games with whatever toys they have... You can play store or restaurant... sometimes I'll play simon says or charades with the kid... I hope this gives you some ideas...but even my son still tells me how "boring I am"
