How do you get your discussion in 'Todays top discussions' group. I am new and wish to know how can your discussion appear in that group. I started a new discussion but was never to be found in that group. I do not know where it is. Those experienced myLotters could you please enlighten me on this. I do not think that only quality discussions appear there because I see a lot of them are quite shallow, that is just mere questions asked with not much debt. I am not criticising here but being very frank and positive. I have been in many other discussion groups. Could someone explain on this please.

guess what? i actuallky came across your discussion under the top discussions list! perhaps it's the number of responses that you have received in the past 12 hours. those who have more responses in just the past 12 hours get into the 'heated' 'active' discussions list. perhaps if you have had 20 responses but they all came at one a day then you would not have made it into top discussions. so the frequency is important. something that people find intersting enough to respond to. my discussions are seldom amongst the top perhaps also because i seldom check that they are! anyhow, enjoy your time at mylot., i see that you are quite a new member.

Well, this is certainly interesting because I just found this discussion listed under Today's top discussions. I have no idea what gets a discussion into this category. I will be peeking in a little later to see if anyone has an answer for you. I personally don't care if I get in, but i would like to know anyway how it happens. I noticed all kinds of numbers for responses just now. My guess is that it's a very random system.

yes, i think that it is not very simple to be included in the daily top discussion. Probably someone decides that a discussione can be elected, and then it is published in this special section. But once it has been published, it is very simple to get more answers. In fact every day people go to this section, and leave their comment. So if you have a good number of answers it will be simple to get more and more.
