I must finally be getting the hang of this. Up until now, I was making perhaps a cent or two a day. Yesterday I made .23 cents. That is very cool. I got alot of feedback to questions that I had regarding this site and the information I received seemed to really help. I have one more concern though. First of all, if you post a discussion, someone responds and then you respond to them, are you paid for that response? Even if you aren't isn't it just polite to acknowledge that they took the time to post a response? I find that many people don't and that surprises me.

That's defeniatly a good amount to get to. If you make 20 cents a day then you'll have at least 6 dollars at the end of the month (did I do the math right?) lol. The most I have made in one day is 1.50, so if I can do it...anyone can!!! =P Keep on going!

Thanks, it definitely gives me the motivation to continue to try. In fact it it has also motivated me to try to get some referrals and I already have a few.

Nice! I wish I could be as lucky as you with refferals. I have 10, but NONE of them are active X.X So they don't earn me any money....*sigh* hehe

I belong to a site where you can earn referrals for any site you want. Basically you offer them credits to join your site. What I have found helpful is to make posting a discussion a prerequisite before I will give them the credits, that way they can get a taste of how the site works and that seems to keep their interest.

Yay! Congrats on your earnings yesterday! As a matter of fact, yesterday was my best day so far too. I made .20 cents. Hopefully I can keep that up or maybe even do better. Not that it's about the money, though. :-) I'm like you and was gone from here for quite some time. I was of course, bummed because I didn't realize my earnings from before would be forfeited since I didn't make payout amount before going away for so long. :( I have been trying to respond when people leave a response to something I've said. It is a tad time consuming, but I do think it's nice to acknowledge that someone has taken the time to actually read my response and say add more to the conversation.

How cool to meet someone who shares the name! :-) Thanks so much for the response. It does feel really nice to notice that someone takes the time to read what you've said and then reply. Hope you have a super day, and here's to both of us having some more good earnings days too. *hugs*

Congratulations on your best day also. Funny about your mylot id. Mamakat is what my boyfriend calls me. I'll have to tell him that someone is using the name. It is time consuming, but everyone likes to be validated for their effort and I believe would be more likely to respond again if you do so.

From what I know, you are paid for commenting the responses you get, but very, very little, not comparable to what you get for a normal response you give to a discussion.

Thank you for your answer. I would continue to do it even if I wasn't paid for it, just because I think it is the right thing to do.

Yes of course it's nice and polite to add a comment. And we can benefit from it like from the most nice and polite things we're doing, even if not directly... As far as I understand, every time we are posting a comment our discussion will jump back up and will catch more attention by other members, and we can get more responses that way;-)

ok, I am new at this too, and I have only been earning a few cents a day. So I am going to read all the threads so I can see how to raise my rating and earn more!!

i don't know whether we get paid for responding again or not but it is definitely polite to acknowledge a comment. not only is it polite, the other party will also feel satisfied to know that their post has been read. i know i would. i'm not sure why some don't respond too. they might have their own reasons. to each his own as i always say.

I suppose, but it seems like people would be more likely to respond to later discussions if you validated their response to your post.

Unfortunately, we do not get paid when you start a New Discussion on here, and then reply back to someone when they respond back. Also we do not get paid more than once on any Discussion we answer. It would be nice if it was different. That could be why there are many here who do not take the time to respond back when someone starts a discussion on here, but in the case of me, I am quite busy and sometimes do not have the time to be an active member here like I used too.

Hi!! I finally made it over :) You know I had been making between,.35-.50 cents a day,but since my start went down ,and I haven't responded so much on others' discussions, it has stayed at about .20 cents a day.I think most of the earnings do come from your responses to other's discussions. But no, if you comment back to my response, you won't get paid for the thread.Silly to me, but it's how I have found it to work anyway.

me too...as long as they offer something to the thread than they deserve it, after all they don't have to respond. so it's my little pay it forward to them I guess.you can pretty much weed out the trouble makers that are just there for an argument anyway :)

I just started understanding about the stars. I am not going to put to much emphasis on them. I actually rated for the first time today and I gave everyone a plus. Unless they something really abrasive, which I haven't seen in my posts yet, I don't see why I would rate anyone negatively.

Having lots of responses can help. I really don't know the formula but someone back then posted that responses earn a bit. If your response to responses is quite long, for me, it earns you more. No one can confirm this but I always see to it that a lot of users respond to my topics. If possible comment on every response you receive.

I do respond to every response that I get. I can't make anyone respond to my discussions, but when I get a notice in my email that someone has posted a new topic, I reply or I find topics in my profile that I think I am qualified to answer. Thank you for your answer.

Congrats! I've personally found that I've been making more money per post recently. I'm not sure if myLot has started paying more per post, or if I've just been writing better posts - but it's nice to see my balance going up more! Keep up the posts!

I might be wrong but I don't think you get paid for responding to somone who has responded to your post. It is nice of you to respond though. I don't start many discussion I like replying better than starting topics. I am glad you were happy with your earning yesterday. I hope to have some time to spend on mylot this month and get a nice little chunk of change to add to my saving to buy a house savings account.

Thats really good...I have heard before from people that they got more money than they thought they would and they didnt know how...I haven't really figured out the exact way that mylot.com pays its people that do work for them...I wish and I think alot of other people wish that the people that was running mylot.com would put up a little chart or something that showed how much they paid you for each answer or either update your account whenever you answered a question or either ask a question! that would help!

I think thats a very good idea. I agree it would be very helpful to have them break down exactly how you earned what you did. I earned .34 cents yesterday and I know that I worked harder than the day before, but still would like to know exactly how I earned it.

It isn't all about making money it's about meeting new people and helping people with problems that they might have and need some advice on.

I made $1.03 yesterday, I am so proud of myself :D. I also agree with you that one should give comments or respond back to the people that responded to you! I always check my new discussions and the responses I get, I always thanks them and comment. After that day and I get more responses I leave them or try and give a response if there is nothing else to do.

You should be proud. $1.03 is quite remarkable. I like that I get the alerts in my email. It really helps me to keep track of what people are posting and I can address them one at a time.

To me that is all part of coming here. If I start a discussion I do get back to my responses. It may not be right away but I will get back to them. As you say that is a polite thing to do. I go through the discussions of others and I have found also that there are a lot of discussions that don't respond back to the person that has responded to your discussion. There are reasons I figure that they don't get back and don't let it bother me. Sure I would like to get a response to my response but there are a lot of different people here and a lot of different ways of looking at things.

I know we all have our reasons for the things that we do, but I have to admit it does bother me a little, because I feel like they don't place any importance on the discussion and what people actually had to say in response, but thats just my take on it.
• Philippines
4 Feb 08
Wow! Congratulations on that! I believe you only earn through the responses you post for a discussion and when you post a discussion where people can respond. I don't think we earn anything from replying to responses made on any discussions. Nonetheless, it pays off to reply to the responses we get for our discussions.

Thanks. Since posting that I have gone from 1.30 to 2.47 so I must be doing something right. I do always reply to all of my responses. I like to do it.

Congrats on the 23 cents. It's a great feeling hey? I think this is a great exercise in learning how to really appreciate the value of money. Sites like this make you aware that over time a few cents can start to add up. As for what you get paid for here I am not really 100% certain so I offer you no help there...sorry. I do think that it is nice to respond if people comment, though I must admit there are a few comments that I have not responded to. There have been a few reasons for this. The main one is time the other is I just don't know what to say!

Thank you. I made .34 cents by the time I read your post. That made me even happier, but I spent most of the day doing it and I can't imagine those that post 300 to 400 in a day. Whew!

I have already 2.91 on my earnings and I really don't understand how they compute the earnings, just yesterday. But I think the more friends would help a lot and more discussions with better and sensible topics will also account. Well, I am also enjoying responding to friends and being responded to, so whether they also pay for responding or not, I am happy and satisfied. More earnings to come for you and best of luck!
