My favorite place to live, and actually isn't considered a state, was Washington DC. We lived there years ago before kids came along. It was a busy place with so much to do all the time. The jobs were plentiful and interesting. Restaurants abounded for any kind of ethnic food imaginable. Public transportation was good - we sold our car. We had cultural events, museums, shopping and parks. Housing was a little expensive, but nice apartments were around and you could find some that weren't just boxes, but quite interesting.
Okay, that's about it.

My favorite places to visit are New York and Nevada, but I don't know if I would want to live there. They are special to visit, but if I lived there it might ruin it for me. I have heard Hawaii is nice but I haven't been there. I here it is expensive though.
