Long hair

I am a single dad, 6 foot 1, and I weigh 270 pounds, and ride mountain bikes and am healthy, no extra fat problem. I started growing my hair 2 years ago because insurance wouldn't pay my disability insurance. I told my friend that I would cut it when I got paid. Well now it's long and I don't feel like cutting it. is it wrong to have real long hair, and a big beard when I am 50 with a 10-year old son???

Thanks.....sometimes when i go to the mall people stare at me, mostly because I am a big guy. But I feel better with a beard and long hair. I like to think it lets people know that I am not "with" the system, and i don't conform to standards.

Long hair that is well cared for is fine. I know plenty of professionals who have pony tails. Of course anyone who sees a guy with long hair and a big beard with your stature will automatically assume you are a biker and a bad@$$ but really if you like it long, keep it long. I would trim up the beard though. Everytime I see a big bushy beard I think there are birds or chipmunks nesting in it. :)

So that's what it is! I have been hearing birds and I thought spring had come early with the birds chirping! Thank you for directing my attention to that....lol

It depends on the guy really. Some guys look great with long hair in a pony tail, others look horrible. Maybe it's the way they wear it, dunno. Hubby couldn't afford a haircut all last year and it was down to his shoulders. I finally told him I was giving him one cause he didn't look good with long hair at all. He looks great with it short and no beard. His twin bro looks horrible with a close-cut haircut and long beard with a pot belly. He looks like a total bum and alot older than his 45 yrs.

its not wrong at all. my husband broke his back a years ago and hasnt been wroking a real job. well he got depressed his hair grw etc. i loved it though. his hair is prettier then mine. he was taling about cutting it and i threw a fit. we have 2 kids 10 and 13 both girls. they like his long hair too. as long as you keep it clean i see no issues. i think if a gy wants long hair he should have it. if women can why cant men? now the beard it up to you too. i like when hubby shaves his cause he looks better with out but he is one of those that has to shave 2 times a day for it to be really shaved lol. so he does it once a week and by that time it looks like your pic lol. be you and dont worry about others. that is what you should teach your 10 year old. be him and be proud.

I think long hair on a guy is cool, but it all depends on if it suites him or not. I am a guy, 20 years old and yeah I like to have my hair fairly long.. just over my ears and a bit over my eyes to the side alittle... I dont think theres anything wrong with having long hair!
