Last minute assignments.

I work as an administrative assistant for a university. I work for three different bosses that love to procrastinate. For example I was told to call three different places for estimates, and within 15 minutes he was calling telling me nevermind it was taking too long. Do they forget that we have to hold for these other companies or what? I had already called two places and was on hold with the third....just makes me feel like I'm not doing a sufficient job. Has anyone else experienced things like this at their job?
