I am giving up eating out, carbonated drinks, tortillas, and snacks. What are you going to give up?

i'm jewish so i don't observe lent, but i wanted to share this little story (and i hope this doesn't offend anyone). a few years ago a friend of mine decided to give up religion for lent to see if it would create a paradox that would make the world implode. obviously though, she was wrong ;)

I never drink sodas and never eat animal products. I think for Lent, though, I'm going to give up sweets...even the healthier sweet treats I sometimes make.

My husband and I were both raised Catholic but neither one of us practices it now. When asked what I am giving up for Lent I say the same thing I did last year. "I am giving up giving things up!"

I am not catholic so I won't have to give up anything. My dad was catholic and he usually gave up playing lottery tickets through lint. That really helped the pocket book. I could not live without my diet coke so even if I was catholic that is one thing I would not give up is carbonated drinks.
