So I am seeing everywhere that people can't stand Hilary and that people don't like Barack either. So my question is who do you like? Who would you like to see running this country? Why? Do you consider yourself a Dem and you just don't like the candidates? Or do you vote straight Rep? Just looking for something more than NOT liking a candidate. As for me I think that our country will a million times better when we can all meet closer to the middle. In that I mean conservative Democrats and Liberal Republicans. I think that we hurt ourselves when we honor Party ties (esp when alot of us don't even know why we support a particular party). It should be about the issues. I also believe that this election is going to be the BIGGEST discrimination our country has ever seen since many people will vote for the Repubilcan candidate just because they don't want a woman pres or a black pres. Your thoughts?

"So I am seeing everywhere that people can't stand Hilary and that people don't like Barack either." I must say that is NOT what I'm seeing, far from it. More people have voted in the primaries so far - especially in the Democratic primaries - than ever before in history, and not by just a few. I think you're right about the country being closer to the middle, which is where I think we actually are. In this election it's not that Hillary, Obama or any of the other Democrats who were running are far left but that the Republicans are WAY to the right when it comes to most issues. I agree that we shouldn't vote only based on party. I've never done that and I've been voting since 1972; although the majority of the candidates I've voted for through the years have been Democrats but I've always based my votes on the issues. I must respectfully disagree with your last statement. Since the turnout for all the primaries so far have been so heavy and the candidates receiving the most votes have obviously been a woman and a black man I'm happy and proud to say I truly believe our country is ready for either to be President, and I say it's about time! I do think, however, many Republicans will stay home because they aren't so thrilled with McCain and others will actually vote for the Democratic nominee. We had "Reagan Democrats" so now we'll have "Clinton or Obama Republicans". Annie

Senator Obama and Edwards - as candidates in a recent debate
So far I was with Hillary due manly for her last name and the great president he was. In the last few days, I heard more to Obama and despite his lack of experience, he might turn out a much better choice than Hillary. Thought that some years in the Senate, she would have found her center which is not the case. My first choice would be Senator Edwards, unfortunately he dropped out this time.

I don't like HIllary because she's annoying! lol I know that's not a good enough reason not to vote for her but we have months till the elections so I haven't made up my mind yet. :) I'll worry about it when we have our final 2 choices for election day. As for voting by party, we have some politicians who will run as republican even though their views are more democratic just because they know a democrat is running an uphill battle so that's not a good reason to vote one way or the other.
