Does your husband change your baby's nappy when they pooed?

Oh well, it took time before my hubby got used to the smell but he has no choie but to do it when I'm out. My baby's formula milk is Nan Hypoallergenic and the odor is really stinky. What about? Aren't we lucky having husbands who would do it, regardless if they love to do it or now? :-)

hehehe well some are really unlucky that their husbands didn't want to change the nappy. i'm fortunate in that my hubby did change when requested albeit unwillingly. as most say, husbands prefer not to do it. hehe for a while, when i was busy, he used to help me but after changing a few times, then he used to tell me do change while he'd offer to do whatever it was that i was doing. grins. hehehe i think he changed less than 20 times? grins hehe

I'd say my husband has changed more then half of our kids' diapers over the years. He changed our first child's first diaper. He usually volunteered to change them. Then after I got pregnant again I really couldn't stomach it. I had an awful gag reflex so we made a deal that he would change all diapers while he was home since I HAD to do the ones while he was at work. That still goes on today with our 4th child (who is almost 2). He was the experienced one, though. He has been changing diapers since his oldest nephew was born when he was 15. My sister in law wasn't quite ready to be a mom and was always off having fun. My husband was the one that stayed up with the baby at night and fed him and changed him (him and his parents and gramma and uncle raised the kid for the first few years). He also helped raise his other 2 nephews so when our oldest daughter was born he was a pro. I had never changed a single diaper in my life and hadn't held a baby younger then 1 until I met him (and held his nephew who was about 5 months old--he puked all over me, lol). I had never held a newborn or even seen one up close before I had my baby.

I have to admit that my husband is very helpful in this aspect. He did more than this. He also bathed our baby because he was heavy for me to carry. I felt bad that it seemed I didn't know how to do it. So at that time it's always my husband to take a bath for our baby. When our baby cried at night, he would bring him out to have a walk outside and therefore our baby would stop crying. I really appreciate his help.

When Our first child was born, and we brought him home from the hospital, My husband changed the very first diaper!! He has no problems changing a diaper whether I'm home or not. We've got 3 kids, and as he says, they aren't your kids or my kids, they are our kids, we are both raising them together as a team.

OMG! Did yoour kids suffer from diaper rash because their nappy wasn't changed at once?Oh well, we can't have all the best in the world. I'm sure, your husband must have done something to compensate his unwillingness to change your kid's nappy.

I think he did more then me at first. It wasn't for any reason besides her schedule and when he was home. We had the deal that when he got home he got an hour to him self then he was on "Luann duty" and I got some time to do what I needed to do and time for myself.

I have fought for that too, I should be given time to rest too as I get home since I am also tired. I can't just work at once as soon as I have arrived.

haha...husbands changing diapers..whoo... my husband did it a few times and i could probably count them on my hands. there are times when i didn't feel well and when i was pregnant and the smell made me want to vomit. he changed it then. but now my kids are out of diapers and i'm watching my nephews who are both in diapers. trying to get him to change those is next to impossible.

my hubby doen't have a choice when i am out. I now know when he would text me and ask me if I am on my way home - our baby pooed and they would wait for me to change our baby's nappy. HE discovered a trick so that he cannot smell it, he put some cold rubs (vicks) between his nose and his lips.

Yep, this is a fun question. I am so glad you asked! My hubby used to change our 2 daughters diapers without a problem. I was always glad for his help as I ran a daycare in my home for extra money when the kids were small. When hubby was around he would alwasy lend a hand with our own children, but not the daycare (can't blame him)lol! And I was always glad for his help, as some of our friends had hubby's that would not dare, lol! Nowadays hubby will change the grandchildrens diapers only if my daughter or I or her husband is not around to do itt and he is babysitting. If he knows one of us will be right home though, sometimes he will hold off, especially if it is really stinky, lol. But that is a man for ya, lol! Great stinky topic discussion by the way! Glad your hubby helps out with it too!

Actually it was my hubby who first did the pooh cleaning. He is not really squimish when it comes to odors. I usually call him when the baby poohs! of course I did my share of butt wiping and all too. parenting should be a shared responsbility. Why should men be exempt from cleaning up the baby?

They should not be exempted from doing it but we can't deny the fact that they don't wanna do it as much as possible.

My husband always change our baby's diapers especially when she pooed... he has no choice because i go to work and he stays with her (he is now on vacation from work)... he doesn't mind it... he is a hands on dad and loves to take care of his little angel... he even gives her a bath and most of time choose what she will wear when we will go out...

I agree, he is also a househusband since he works at home and he doesn't want to get a nanny so he has no choice but to do it on his own.

My husband will only change a diaper if I ask him to too. I have to point out that the baby smells and that it is his turn to change him. He maybe changes 5 diapers a week.
