Congratulations on having a beautiful baby boy! I've had 2, one natural and 1 c-sect. The problem I had with the c-sec was that once that cut is made, you get an "overhang" even if you lose the weight. In addition, your abdominal muscles expand and since you had a very big baby, they probably expanded a lot! Moderate diet and exercise will help. In the meantime, remember that even though your body has changed, you've received a precious gift in return which makes the "pouch" well worth it! P.S. After I hit a certain "age" when I wasn't going to have any more children, I went ahead and got a tummy tuck and now it's flatter than it's ever been, but I don't recommend if you are young and intend to have more kids. Good luck to you and enjoy your boy!

The problem is with a c-section that it weakens the stomach muscles, it took me a long time after 3 to get in shape. Mostly I walked, did some strength training and watched what I ate. I was around 136 lbs after my third baby, which is a lot for my small frame, now I am 108 lbs and my stomach is only slightly poochy, but I can live with it, it's a lot better than it used to be.

i think some of the pooch is normal simply because of the way you gave birth...i had 2 sections and i have one...all i did was watch what i ate and that really helped.

I'm not sure Erica as I didn't have a C-section. I have a baby pouch and it seems to get worse everytime I lose a few more pounds. I'm sure diet and exercise help and a lot of stomach mucle exercises but not sure how far you need to go with that.

I think, the best thing you can do is get on an exercise schedule. I workout to my pilates video every other night and I make sure I eat right. Eating right is a lot easier than what most people think it is. You don't need to cut calories so much as you need to make sure the calories you're ingesting are healthy calories. There's a huge difference in 1,000 calories of cookies and cake, and 1,000 calories of carrots and celery. Catch my drift? Try not to weigh yourself everyday because all that will do is depress you. I try only weighing myself once a week on Wednesday in the morning before I do anything. It takes effort and commitment, but if you can do it, the results are amazing.

i never had much trouble losing the weight, but the belly... I am actually 10lbs less than I was before I got pregnant with my 1st. I have had 2 c-sections, and I have the pouch of loose skin to show for it. I have done some searches on the internet trying to find a solution - and from what I can gather it is a common problem with c-sections. I just keep doing ab work and hoping eventually it will get better - so far it's a little better, but still very much there - my youngest is nearly 2. I know that isn't much help, but you are not alone. Good Luck!!
