Why why why do people spend hundreds of dollars on a cell phone and wont buy a $10 headset AND USE the darn thing? I am freaking mad, my car was 1 month old. As soon as she hit me I looked up to see her talking on the cell phone. Hell she came to my window still holding the damn phone. I think talking without the headset should be banned and drivers should start getting tickets, $200 tickets!!! Its stupid, dangerous and just plain unnecessary. Cant tell you how many times I have seen people making turns coming over the line while holding a cell phone. What the hell is that darn important to talk about where you cant set the phone down to make a turn? Anyway off my soap box, what do you think? First it was the seatbelt thing NOW IT SHOULD BE CELL PHONES!

Oh yea, I've seen too many drivers not paying attention to the road & guess what, they all but have a cell attached to their head. I hate the things. For me their for emergency use only. Pick it up only AFTER you've had a wreck, not before.

EXACTLY! I didnt get a cell phone until after 30 and the only reason I got it was because we live in a remote area and my husband thought we needed it. I see people on them things at 6:00 in the morning on my way to work! Who the hell are they talking to that early?

I know. I've had a near miss before because of the same thing. I was at a stop light and was gonna turn. Well the light turned green for me to turn, but I noticed a car that was still going straight through from where it had just turned red at not even slowing down and just kept right on coming and ran that red light. When I saw she was gonna run the red light I just waited to turn until after she went through since I saw her in enough time to avoid it. And when she went right by me guess what she was doing? Yep, talking on a cell phone.

*$#!* that makes me so freaking MAD. I am glad you are ok and waited. Now they have those cameras on the lights when people run them. I heard the ticket amounts are huge.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago and I had a new car too. The b@$#% wasn't paying any attention taking away I even saw her. Luckily I didn't have a lot of damage. I actually pocketed a couple hundred dollars because the shop said if they couldn't fix it it was free (painless dent repair). It was a small dent and they couldn't fix all of it but you can hardly tell anything was wrong. I was just so mad that she was just talking and didn't pay any attention.

Yeah mine was a small dent too. It does make one ANGRY when you see that damn cell phone and to think people are killing other drivers with this thing. I found some videos of horrible car accidents due to cell phones. I am starting a website and protest against this. Here is my website if you want to look. I will be adding a voters section soon for others to comment. www.squidoo.com/cellphonerage

I agree entirely. Here in Italy it is in fact against the law to use your phone, unless you use it in 'viva-voce', while driving and you do get fined very heavily. Of course not all follow this rule. Here we also have a points system on your licence - you start with 20 and they get deducted if you are fined for anything including talking on the phone. If my phone rings while I'm drving I either pull over and stop, switching off the engine and ring back the person who phoned or I wait until I reach destination and then return the call. I did not use it even before the law was introduced when I was driving.

Thats what I do. People get mad and say how come you never answer your cell phone. I ask them was it important? And the answer is always no. I call them when I get to my destination. Then they say whats the purpose of having a cell phone if you dont answer it. I tell them its for MY own personal use, since I am the one paying the bill, not for you to reach me. The usually shuts them up. I am going to see if we have some laws here in Texas. If not, I will write my congressman.

I so agree with you. I just want to tell them to get off the phone and drive. Some people just aren't coordinated enough to handle the car and a phone. I am one of those people. I have to pull over and if I can't I just don't pick up. Cell phone people are in their own worlds and we have to compensate for their stupid driving.
