Our cat Jasmine cries loudly.

Let me start by saying we had two cats. Jasmine and Molly. It took awhile but they finally were able to get along. Then we noticed that Jasmine was carrying a small stuffed turtle around in her mouth and crying very loudly. She would only do it if she thought she was alone in the house. It didn't bother Molly at all. The only thing that bother Molly was other people 'not' in our household. Hiss, claw and scratch. Needless to say we lost alot of our friends and we had to give her away. Jasmine quit the crying and the turle dissapeared. We soon got another kitty. A boy this time. A rambuncious little fellow. He is approx. 10 months old now. Fixed and declawed. For a long time Jasmine would not tolerate him. She would hiss if he *looked* in her direction. Now since Sasper is more grown up he doesn't attack her as often and they play and fight like normal cats are supposed to do. Now the problem...Jasmine is crying again with a different stuffed turtle hanging in her mouth. She does it in front of people now. It isn't embarrassing as it is so pitiful. (Why she steals my stuffed turtles is another question.) Why does she do this and is there something that she needs? She is approx. 10 years old and Sasper is approx 10 months old. Anything could help.

as she is the oldest she might feel like you are replacing her with the kitten. Even thought they play together she may feel this way and as for her doing it in front of company just tell them something she just started doing and you dont know why maybe if the pet her it would stop. as for getting you sruffed turtles I have no idea unless she thinks it is her baby . Like one of our dogs do we hav eto hide all the stuffed animals from him the little ones for he used to curl up around tham and growl and snap if other dog come s close to his (family)

I have big stuffed turtle on the floor and she lays in it's arms. She looks just like a big baby. LOL

This is not unusual. She has adopted the turtle as her "baby". She is treating it as her baby but I have no clue as to why they yowl over them. I have a male that does it. I have had other females do it. It is only one special toy that has come into the house that they have become attached to for some reason. She just needs some assurance that you know she has her baby and it is ok. No rhyme or reason to any of it than I can find.

Why she adopted my stuffed 'turtle' is beyond me. This is the second one that she has adopted. The first one was lost about a year ago. We have no idea where it went. Just up and vanished one day. Then she attached herself to this one. LOL

When we first got out cats the female was the only vocal one (she makes noise when she does just about everything). It took our male close to a year before he decided to become vocal and he sounds pitiful when he meows. Normally, he is pretty quiet but when he wants attention he will walk around meowing like he is going to die (he will even meow at his sister, which is really rare). Sounds like you have a cat that wants some attention and she knows just how to get it from you.

Hi sherrir101. Thanks 'sherrir101' for providing a good start by saying you had two cats. Jasmine and Molly. And now about 'three stooges' for Jasmine, Molly ans Sasper. What I erudite from your story, Sasper is the youngest, because he was only 10 moths old. Actually, Jasmine is a tame animal and domesticate. Jasmine need more attention from you. Need more 'touch' from you from time to time. I hope if you practice this way, it will help her and you. Anyway, you're still lucky, because Molly didn't create any problem to the 'gang' and you. Happy Postings and Earnings, Sherrir101. HAPPY DAPPY.
