Ok my sister is joining the national guard and my sister cant have someone bossing her around at all. I told her she isnt going to like it and she says as long as there not too bossy. well i said your in for a suprise but than someone told me that NO they arnt like they use to be and they have stress cards now. WTF OK your joing the National Guard to Protect our country but if they are to hard on you you can pull out a card saying stop your being to hard. Like an enemy would stop if you held out some card to them. thats the whole point of them being hard on you so you can be prepared for anything. Is this statment true on the stress cards and what do you think about it.

LOL The ole stress card story. We have a good friend who is in the Marine and my husband is ex-army and was recently looking into joining the Marines. We were joking around one day about stress cards, the Marine recruiter said that is all a lie. Our buddy in the Corps said the same thing. I would think that if one branch had 'em, they all would. I remember this story floating around when my ex husband was in the Army, the guys always got a good laugh out of them.

Well, the quality of people that they do allow into the military probably do need the stress cards. The military is extremely over worked and very abused. With the branches now taking anyone that they can get, those problems are just going to get worse. Since the people who are in the military are not encouraged to get help of any kind when the need it, more people are hurt in the long run than necessary.

yea maybe they need to let up a little bit but will an enemy let up in that case no they would keep on they have to be somewhat harsh to train them for the enemy. I knwo what you mean and i dont want my sister to be overly abused or anything but they decided to join an army that is there to learn how to handle any situation with the enemy and some things they do to the solders need to be done so they know what to do in a real life situation

I don't know if they still use stress cards or not but I do know that they did. I am in the Marine Corps and they tried to bring that in on us but the Corps said no way. I agree 100% with what you say here. You don't find to many women that think like you do. Over the past 3 years I have been a Combat Instructor for Marines out of boot camp. I have to say that with or without stress cards the military has gotten a lot softer. Mothers of America have a lot to do with it. Take for example, we can not cuss at them and we can not be within an arms distance of them if correcting them. That is just a few things. The entire military needs to go back to the old ways so that all of these kids are born again hard.

yes I know that there are not many woman that think like me. but I may not want to join the army or anything but i know that if i did want to join the military I would join the marines just to let you know. I would want the toughest training so i would be prepared for anything. Its the whole point in joining aint it. when in enemy lines and you say wait your being to hard the enemy isnt going to stop. what ever are we going to do if someone like china decides to attack us. thats not how military should go its your choice to be in it so deal with what you joined. but the military should also stop making it look like a vacation that gives you a bunch of freebies to join.

Are you serious? I am a Marine Corps brat and wow, I would love to see a Marine pull out a stress card. No the enemy is not going to say, "It's ok, she pulled out the stress card, now we have to stop the torture." I can tell you how ever what they will do with that stress card, use your imagination on that. You are meant to be pushed to your limits so you can survive and help your team survive. You are very correct on your words. Good to know the National Guard has a safety word now. Ainge

I so agree. I told a friend of mine who is a Marine what you said and he laughed at it and also told me at the same time he wanted to cry. That is not what we are going into the service for. Even I take a chance of my freedoms because of my work. I tend to believe your sis is in for a big surprise when she gets there and believe me even though they say they don't yell in their faces...well you can go from there. The training of Boot and Basic is to get them ready in case they are captured and for the horrors of war. My question is this, if our guys get stress cards how come those in GitMo don't? Take care, Ainge
