I have been on mylot for about three weeks now...and I still haven't figured everything out yet...for one...I was told that you could post news stories(like articles that I had found)if I wanted to ask something about it or get some comments about it...I found a few interesting ones on cnn and posted it and got alot of responses to it...this was yesterday...and I had like 724 post and questions(mainly answers though)and I came home today and was about to ask a question about the places that I live and the people around me and I still had 724 but after I posted that question I went to look and then I had 721 and my post about stories from cnn was deleted...so why were they deleted when I was told by more than one person that I could do that...because I had legit questions about them and I didn't want to have to handwrite all of that out...and it was the kinds of stories that you had to get all the details and that was basically the whole stories...and one of my other questions was whenever they get deleted what do they do does that take away from your money or something like that....because the day before yesterday I think I had like 9.98 and then yesterday I had like 9.96 so they took away two cents and I know someone else that had this happen to them and they didn't get anything deleted...I was just wondering why mylot was taking a few of my pennies away...I know that it isn't much but you have to do alot of writing get that few pennies sometimes...so why are they doing this? Has anyone had any of these things happen to them while they have been on mylot so far...and thanks for the answers to my questions if you give any...and thanks for stopping by and giving my discussion a look!

I am not sure about it myself but some things to consider may be whether or not you gave credit to your source and posted a link to the original article. If not that would be a copyright infringement and may be why it was deleted. Even if you only use a few lines of someone elses work you have to cite your sources and give them credit. I am not saying that this is what happened but you might want to check out that aspect of it and see if you did give credit to the source. Hope that helps.

It does help..I think that that could have been the problems but I am not sure I was always under the impression that if you posted any link in your question or answer that your question would automatically be deleted...thanks for all of your help!

If you have 730 comment things, then how come you are only on $9 ?!?! I only have 25 or so, and i have $29, and i have been a memmber for 2 weeks :/ You sure you are not going wrong somewhere? And i dont think that they 'take' money off you! With the crash person, I am not sure whether it is actually a mylot admin, or someone acting like mylot admin, to make people feel like admin are close to their members. There have been a lot of discussions about CRASH, and i dont think that anyone knows properly who it is?! So the answers you get from him, should be accurate, but might not be exactly right, as a lot of people believe from different things that have happened, he is not admin, or even close :/ ... so yeah, hope this helped, and also the FAQ's section, has nearly everything you have mentioned above on it ... Take a look =] Chris

Well, I don't know why your discussion was deleted but to have one deleted someone had to report it as abuse and then mylot admin looks at it and decides what to do with it. So for some reason mylot admin agreed it was abuse or it was against the guidelines and so they deleted it. That is why you lost some money in your earnings, and so did all the people who responded to your discussion. Of course you have to lose a few pennies because mylot can't pay people for something that is not available for people to read anymore. If they didn't take your earnings away then anyone and I'm sure everyone, would just post nothings to earn, like blah blah blah. If you have other questions about mylot just type in the word crash on the top of your page in the seach bar. Make sure the mylot or the discussion link is on and press search. Crash is a mylot admin that is answering people questions here but you need to read them all first because if your question is already asked by someone else than they will not answer you. I think all the members here have covered every kind of question you may have but be prepared to read a lot because there are 192 pages of questions and answers, on my last count.

hi. wow, three weeks and you have reached 728 posts until today? that's a lot! LOL. but I think we cannot just post the whole articles / stories right there without giving any credit. and also, it makes us seem spamming (well, that's my own opinion). some myLot 'cops' (who knows?) will probably think that we stole other's posts for a short cut to increase our posting numbers. maybe you should give the excerpts of the original articles then provide the link instead.

I agree, you've got to write something original. You can't plagiarize someone else's work without giving him credit. You can paraphrase the article and then comment on it.
