sardinepizza - yuck!

Ok, at my friends place the other day we ordered a pizza. He took his half of the pizza after it was delivered, and gave me my half which i enjoyed, of course. Except for one thing, the smell of sardines. It's not like there were any sardines on my pizza, but there was a whole can or 2 on his, i'm not sure because i couldn't bare to watch him eat that. I could smell it pretty much from anywhere in the house. I can't believe people actually like sardines. Anyone have a sardine horror story to share? Or perhaps the few people on the planet that like sardines can explain the beauty of sardines to me as my friend was unable to do. As far as i'm concerned, sardines are for cats. And my cat probably doesn't like them.

Yikes I couldn't eat sardines on pizza. I used to like anchovies though because they're so salty. I would actually eat them right out of the can. I don't eat any animal products anymore so I just stick to veggie pizza toppings.

Ugh, I completely agree. Sardines are horrific little things. Cans of sardines make me gag just about the same as seeing someone vomit. Well, sortof. I could never bring myself to eat one, at least. You get the point. The same applies to anchovies, but a little bit less so.

Are you talking about sardines or anchovies? I've heard of anchovies on commercial pizza, but I've never heard of sardines on commercial pizza. I'm sure if someone made their own pizza they might use them, but I've never heard of this when ordering a pizza from somewhere else.
