It ever happened to me, one day a friend of mine asked me to format his laptop. There was 2 partitions, C and D obviously with 80GB laptop we know. Then I formatted the partition C which windows is obviously installed in this partition right? But what the f*ck me up that his windows was actually in partition D, while his C was used as backup partition, and those his final project thesis were in that damn darning holy sh*t partition C! What the hell!!!! So all the info and file about his final year project that he has been doing for 6 months vanished just like that! So the blame on me???? What the holy sh*t f*cking things ever happen to me, about formatting a friend's computer! 1.) He asked me to format his laptop by himself 2.) I was lazy because I had so many things to do 3.) He left the laptop to me so I gotta format it 4.) I just format the laptop without even boot to windows, In case I just booted to CD and then performed the formatting ritual 5.) He want to use linux, and remove the windows, so I formatted the C partition, then installed linux on it 6.) But it happen that the backup file is C but the windows was in D. 7.) S*ck

There is so much that can be done right now in your situation, but none that will get your files back. You can throw coffee at him, torture him with a tazer, beat him with a baseball bat or just burn down his house. But well I wouldn't encourage any of those, but well all you can do is start to recover I guess, findign what you used to have back again and getting on with yer life. Personally I would wage holy war on any person formating my computer.

long time ago when i still dont have a knowledge about computer i have broken my own hard disk and i very sad about it, there is nothing i can do to save my value data but it is my own wrong so i accept it because i know what i am doing, a technican have learn this things so before doing some formating he already know what to do so there is no way he can do careless things.

Hi there! I think that if he is my friend, I will be able to forgive him. He's saying that it is an accident and accidents do happen. No one wants them to happen but they do. It just meant that he isn't that skilled enough to call hisself a technician. I will forgive him, although of course I'll be upset just like you. And I will never trust him with my computer again.

i think your friend would have formatted it by accident or by carelessness......anyway what is gone is gone....try to maintain a backup from now onwards and also dont allow administrative access to others...

It's done - there isn't much you can do about it now. I wouldn't let him touch my computer ever again though! How do you accidentally format a drive - doesn't it ask - Are you sure you want to do this, everything will be deleted - a couple of times? Nope - not my computer every again!
