This film is a massive biopic of the life and times of Howard Hughes. "The Aviator" was a extraordinary human exploration piece. It displayed candidly the dilemmas that we as imperfect humans face. This film made me earnestly reflect, on my own personal dysfunctions and corruptions. It shows with great beauty the difficulty of having to accept, that which you cannot change. How illnesses that fall upon us, can cripple us to the point of not being able to distinguish who we were, and the self that we have now become. Leonardo gave a terrific portrayal of Howard Hughes. While its not as massive as his contribution in "The Departed", this role was sweetly solid. Alec Baldwin as Juan Trippe, was superb... as always, in this delicious villainous role. Alan Alda as well, was exemplary in his role as the evildoer of the story. One main portion that I enjoyed much.. was a plane crash scene, it was masterfully crafted. Also, I loved its cinematic exploration of manic anxiety and compulsive obsessiveness. -ZeN

I did enjoy this film. I've always been fascinated by Howard Hughes. I think there was some fine acting by the entire cast.
