I just read this annoucment in the kids daycare and they are usually open only to 6p.m., but since tomorow is Valentine, they are gonna be open till 10 p.m. so parents can spend their valentine evening togther. They want $ 50 for each kid for each hour. I was just curious if you guys could afford it, if you will pay this crazy money just to have your partner only for yourself for tomorow.

I wouldn't. i think that is crazy!!! $50 an hour. i father pay little 16 year girl i know from down the street to come and sit with my children. better yet have my 18 old son come and hang out with the younger ones until i get home. I think what they are doing is a great idea, but $50 that is just craziness to me

OH my gosh! That is insane. I mean, i'm sure there are parents out there that would pay that kind of money just to be able to go out on Valentine's Day, but not me. LOL! Plus, my husband is overseas so it's not really an issue for me this year, but $50 dollars. That is outrageous. I could understand maybe doing something like 10 or 20 dollars an hour, but not 50. That seems a little much to me, but then again we take our kids everywhere except on our anniversary, so who am i to say anything about it. thanks for sharing and God bless

Fifty dollars an hour is way too much. You can drop them off with family that you actually know for much cheaper than that. Usually, there is at least one family member that you can trust with your kids on any day of the week. If not, think of friends.

It is actually not my problem, since I don't have kids yet, but yeah you are right it is way too much money.

I most definitly would not pay that much. I think no one would. Was this just a joke? I mean if you had 2 kids and you wanted them to stay the whole 4 hours that would be $400.00. Now come on, who would pay that, even if they could afford it. If people would pay that much then I need to open a daycare center and start doing it. lol

I would never pay that price. I would just pay someone else to do it for cheaper. Save myself some money. 50$ an hour is outrageous for watching a child for a single hour.

No I wouldn't pay that much money just for a night out with my hubby. I would rather spend our valentines together with our son having a nice simple dinner at home. Mind you we don't celebrate Valentines so I wouldn't even consider hiring a sitter :)

I am sure laurika, that all the 120,268 population on mylot, ( as on 17th of Feb 2008, wont do this. 'coz, if we could offer $50 for an extra hour, why are we toiling long and hard, for hours together here in mylot to earn these small sums. ( Ofcourse, we are also here to learn and get a mental peace, which is no denying by any means)
