When granny gets sick

A little background on my grandmother. She's 81 years old and works full time; if she didn't work, she'd go CRAZY stuck in the house! She gets into these vicious cycles where she gets a little sick, and, because of her age and industry (food preparation) had a take a few days off of work. She'll not be at work for 2 or 3 days, and she'll just go nuts, and work herself up because she's so stir crazy, and get sicker. Then she's sicker, and has to take more time off work, and it just keeps spiraling until today happens. Right now, my mother has taken my grandmother to the hospital. Her doctor was out of the office, and she was having chest pains. We don't think it's anything serious; for the last two weeks, it's been circulating around the family. First my oldest (5) got it from kindergarten. Then she gave it to her little sisters (3 and 2), who gave it to me, hubby, mom, dad and granny. The kids were over it in about two days. Hubby and I have lingering sinus problems, but nothing to worry over. Mom and Dad are both still pretty wretched sick, with sinus pain, but they're coping. But granny... Old granny is going insane. She won't eat because she's so depressed from not being at work, and she's upset because she's been sick for 2 weeks. I've been at my mom's house during the day to help take care of her (and trust me, I now have a new found respect for what my mother does for my grandmother!) because my mother is too sick to do it alone. Problem is, when it comes to talking to doctors, I can't. My mom has power of attorney, so she can find out anything; I, however, had to fight to get an appointment time. I'm so sad, seeing my grandma who I've lived with most of my life, so sick and frail. She was always a really energetic, lively woman. And now she gets sick it seems on a monthly basis. I'm so worried that I'm going to get "that" call one of these days. I just needed to get that off my chest.
