I am needing to purchase a new laptop. 3 out of my 7 co-workers have Mac Laptops. They love them. I know two others who have praised their Macs so much that I'm thinking I that is what I want. I am very used to Windows and programs such as Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop and Vegas Video and am wondering about the transition from those to a Mac version of equal .... A friend told me that I should get a Mac that runs windows....Anyone have any advice?

you are so lucky you are surrounded by people who like mac. there must be a very enticing feature of mac that attracts them. i have this dilemma also because i also want to buy a better computer and faster than the one i have right now. i just think that macs are too expensive but i heard also that they are pretty fast and have a lot of cool features and applications. if you have the money, i would say go ahead and buy the best configured mac you can afford and install windows in it. it is possible to install windows operating system in a mac because it has bootcamp. this will solve your problem of having gotten used to using programs on a windows os.

Thanks for the input. Our computer guy at work seems to think that macs are just less likely to need to be fixed. I have a 4 year old Toshiba and for the most part it has been really good and I have used it daily. It have had to replace the DVD drive and the power cord and now my hinges are completely gone. It still performs well though so I would be willing to go with another top of the line Toshiba, however, our computer guy's wife has had her Mac for the same period and never anything wrong...decisions, decisions!
