I thought it would be interesting if we discuss our latest geocaching adventures! Has anybody gone geocaching recently? Do you enjoy the events that are held every so often? Do you know about the geocaching Woodstock event coming soon?

I love geocaching! Unfortunately, I haven't really been in a while though. I did go about three to four weeks ago. However I didn't find either of the two geocaches that I had gone to search for. I do really wish I had at least one other person to go do this sort of thing with though. Which is sad because I have a friend who does like geocaching but I can't ever get him to go with me. He even said that he would go with me sometime but he blew me off every time he said he would though. Darn friends.

There are events where you can meet other geocachers! There was even an Olympic type event! I would go with you if we live close enough! I use a compass and study the map at geocaching.org

I'm a active geocacher. Recently relocated from the U.S.A. to Tasmania, Australia. I have been enjoying it for some time now. I actually found one just yesterday. I run a little blog of my adventures but it's not uptodate. Hope your adventures go well.

It is like hide and seek with a treasure box! The boy scouts used to do something like t called orienteering! They would use a compass to find a place. We use a gps unit to find a location by it's coordinates on earth via satellite. There are virtual caches, where you log your visit but there is not treasure, real caches with small boxes of treasure, just cheap stuff like keychains or something like that (there is a geocaching store online that you can buy things designed to fit in the box) and there are geocaching picnics/pizza parties/meet-ups where you meet with other geocachers! It is fun and you can meet people and get a lot of exercise trying to find the prizes! You are supposed to put something in the box, of the same value as that which you take, and sign the log that you were there. Then you log in on the computer and log your visit! There are clues and maps on the website, geocaching.com I know of one cache which is all about movies, so people put dvds in the box and take one out! If they can find it!
