Who are the "Oceanic 6?"

So far, we know that Jack, Kate, Hugo, and Saheed are all part of the "Oceanic 6." However, we also now know that Ben is off the island. Does this mean he was counted as one of the 6 survivors? If so, then there's only one left to discover. After that, we basically know who's gonna die, which kind of blows.

Ben cannot be one of the Oceanic 6 because he was not on the plane. Remember when the pilot told Myles that Juliett was one of the island natives, because he knows her name was not on the manifest. So if it is true that 6 survivors and one non plane crash survivor make it off the island... DOES that mean Ben is that one??? If so that sucks it means that Desmond and Juilett don't get off. :(

Thank you, I knew I was missing something. I'm retarded. Well, that still only leaves two survivors left, and a lot of good characters to pick from. That is, unless some stay on the island.

I am really excited to see who the other 2 who get off the island are. BUT I am even more curious to find out what happens to the ones who don't leave. Do they die or are they alive and still on the island? Why only six? OMG I cannot get enough LOST.

Could Aaron be considered one of the Oceanic 6? Is he Kate and Sawyer's son or is he Claire's? If he is Kate's then she must have been off the island a few years. She was only on the island 90+ days and thought she might be pregnant. If he is Claire's, what happened to her. Is she the next one to die? Does Kate kill her for Aaron?

A friend asked me the other night if I heard them refer it as the Oceanic8. Did anyone hear that?

Just because they are referring to the "Oceanic 6" doesn't mean that everyone else in the show is going to die. Some people from the flight or the island may come back to civilization, but do it in a low-key way so they are not recognized as one of the 6. And remember, during Kate's trial Jack said that there were only 8 survivors of the crash... which we all know is not true. Maybe 'Oceanic 6' refers to the six alleged survivors, all of whom might make it back to civilization. For whatever reason, Kate and Jack (and presumably Hurley) have created this story about a very small number of survivors. By the time these flash-forwards are taking place, it's hard to know how many people from the flight and the island will still be alive.

We have already seen Michael off the island, so I think he is one of the six. It wouldn't make any sense, if he isn't one. I'm wondering if number six is Walt, but we haven't seen him off the island.

I was thinking maybe Michael was the one extra but that wouldn't make sense since he WAS on the plane. But he is already off the island so how could he be one that was rescued? They say we will find out what he has been up to since he has been of the island so I can't wait to see that. Oh and whats up with John saying Walt told him to shoot Naomi?? And Walt saved him from the ditch... Wonder when we are going to get that part of the story.
