I thought cloverfield was a great movie because it showed the terror of everyday people. Also, it showed the different reactions of the people to the terror. Why is you take on it?

I thought cloverfield was great. The part that really got me was the tape that was being recorded over with the monster. at the end of the film when the people are killed, and the old tape plays and says "That was a good day" that part is just awful and creepy. disturbing.

Cloverfield was only good in theory. But the movie that appeared on my theatre screen was part Blair Witch, part Godzilla (and not the good one) and of course why too much part Lost.... What it all mixed together to become was a motion sickness enducing, unfilling, over special effect/explosion time waster. Sure, it was entertaining and the storyline was decent, but where was the fufillment? No questions were ever answered about anything you could possibly ask. Small details were missed by most people watching the movie. The sad part is we will probaly never see a follow up and no questions will be answered. Thank you JJ Abrams for that one. It works for a TV show but not movies pal. I can't wait three years to see a preview for the follow up to cloverfield and 2013.

It did have a real sort of feel to it, and it did show how people would react, given that those situations could happen. However, especially the thing always being thru the view of the camcorder I found to be a put off. It works for a few scenes, but not a whole movie.

I just came back from watching it tonight! I thought it was superb. The acting wasn't brilliant but the film itself was so cleverly done. Kudos to the director, certainly. I liked the irony of the lead character going to Japan when the godzilla-type monster attacked New York instead. The scuttling babies were superb also. It added a contrast to the great big monster, where there was danger on a smaller scale in comparison on the ground level.

watched Cloverfield sometime last month I think. Thought it was pretty good, the way they filmed it and all. but I was a bit disappointed with the ending haha. Was hoping that rob and beth would survive or something. Good movie, nonetheless.

Total rubbish I wasted 2 hours watching this and it was really bad!, I hate films that are filmed using a video camera and it doesnt make it good at all.

Not all movies are made to be commercially successful with a high amount of budget. Do you think that the guy doesn't have money to make a movie, he does, but he uses a Hand Camera cos he wants to express something by that. I think you re watch the movie and try to understand it rather than complain about shaky picture. bourne

I have not seen it because three people I asked who saw it said the camera was moving around so much that they did not really enjoy it because of that.

I agree, I really liked Cloverfield a lot. I liked that the first person point of view made you feel connected to the movie. When I left the theater, I half expected to look up and see the monster! I thought it was a great monster movie! I also really liked the Alternate Reality Game used to promote the movie.
