Do you Use your Empty Product Jars (pickles, jelly, etc.), or do you Dispose of them?

We used to recycle, but decided to discontinue the practice. The main reason was that the city was making money off of the recycled products everybody was putting in the recycling cans and we were being CHARGED?? FOR IT?? Thanks

I use them to dispose of used oil or bacon/beef grease.

When I started reading your response and you wrote "used oil", immediately I thought about how I use some of our empty jars to dispose of used oil (motor oil), but after reading it all, TWO DIFFERENT OILS. Thanks for your response

Wee! Re-using things is so great. I try to re-use jars and bottles, by putting plants or knick-knacks in them. Also, if you can get your hands on wax -- the little ball kind or sticks -- it makes a great art project for kids or even yourself! There are so many neat things to do with old jars. One of the most obvious is putting leftovers in them. Also, taking them to recycling plants is good. Conservation!

We also use the empty jars, especially the ones made of glass for storing odds and ends. My wife uses them to collect buttons she uses in her hobby, sewing. She also makes keepsake dolls from empty coke bottles. Can you believe that. Thanks for your response

Of course, Yes I use my large dill pickle jar to save change in. After I had filled it up and cashed it in I had about ninty dollars. Pretty good huh, I save pennies, dimes, nickels and quarters. God Bless
