What is wrong with people?

Okay, I am so tired of hearing about kids going to school and shooting the place up. I do not understand why it happens at all, let alone as much as it does. What on earth would posess a person to think this is the right thing to do?? It really makes me fear for the future of my children. Obviously, something is not right with the people who do this, but I cannot imagine something going so wrong that they think this is a good idea.I am very confused as to why this happens so much. It's all over the country, in all kinds of schools, by students from all kinds of backgrounds. I just don't get it. I wish there was something I could do to prevent this. Does anyone out there know if there is an organization that specializes in this? I pray for the families of the people in Illinois. Even the shooter's family. They are going through a very hard time also.

Well, first of all. Some kids get really mad at other kids, and they just can't take it anymore so they do things like that. Shoot everywhere, stabbing everyone, ect.. But those are only the kids who are angry at either they're parents, family and so on.. You should'nt worry if it's a small school your kids are going to.

I respectively disagree with your comment about not worrying if it is a small school. I don't feel the size of the school matters. I think if someone is going to do this, it doesn't matter if there are 20 or 200, not is not the force that is pushing them.

I also don't think the size of the school matters. I think it can happen at a small school, or a big school. In a poor neighborhood, or a rich one. I don't think there is any link to where it happens, and where it couldn't. I do think, though, that this does not come out of the clear blue. There has to be some sign that a kid is going through so much anguish that they would consider this.

Thanks you, zhabird. I know when I was in high school, we saw the teachers as authority figures. No different than cops or our parents. I think too many people are into the Dr spock, never spank parenting mentality. They are not taking proper control of their kids and correcting bad behavior. I think that is only the start of the problem, though.

hey, i live in lubbock, texas where recently a high school student was involved in a gang fight 1 week ago threatened to shoot the school so they had to lock the school down. i think most of this is due to bad parenting.

That is very scary. Nothing like that has happened near me, but I am sure that it could happen here. I would not be so naive to think it couldn't. I just hop eit stops happening period.

Yes me too, I don't know what people are thinking that they think they have the right to take something so precious ...a life... hurt so many innocent people, meaning the families of these people. Where do people go wrong, these people doing the shooting are not far from being little children so what goes wrong... on another thread in here someone mentioned that it was said that these kids were on anti-depressants, so maybe if that is true that could be the key, maybe if does something to their reality thinking...

I have very strong opinions on what is happening to our youth today. It all started when we stopped teaching our children respect and morals, not only at home but at school too. The children today have no consequinses euther from the schools or from their parents. The school teachers are afraid to speak up because if the kids don't retaliate against them, the kids parents do. Look at the examples we give our children, how many times are parents out on the field at football games fighting, how many mothers are pushing their daughters to win contests, no matter what the cost. Then the parents who leave their kids alone all the time to go persue their interest, whether it be jobs or partying. We have a throw away society and our children are some of the first things to be discarded. I don't know the answer to all of what is wrong, I do know this; my children know if they get in trouble at school they are in more trouble when they get home, if they are disrespectful to their teachers, or peers, then I am disrespectful to their hineys. I believe in the principles I was brought up with, and with the guide lines God set up for us in His word. "Train up a child in the way they should go and they will not depart from it", yes they may stray a little, but they will always come back, especially if they have parents who are there tugging. We can not continue to ignore what is happening now, as compared to what went on in the past, my parents and others were doing something right, it may bot have been perfect, but you did not see kids shooting up their school mates. My humble opinion.

i'm thinking of how their parent rise them up. If from the begining the parent taugh them to respect people and dicipline them, I don't think they will behave like that. May be their parent is having problem in their behaviour. it is because the behaviour of children is depend on how their parent rise them up.

It is not surprising to see evil everywhere as the forces of Satan is invisibly scattered around the world; otherwise, where else would these people get their idea? Therefore, it is very important to pray at all times especially before going to bed and before getting up. By doing so, you let God look after us and our family.

Well yes it is probably video games, but i play them alot too and i havent wanted to kill anything. I think the thing is stress, from like work, homework, loss of a family member.
