Can we just ban all controversial topics and talk about our favorite flower?

Ya know, I should know better than to reply to a controversial topic. Nothing good ever comes of it, unless you totally and utterly agree with the views of the person who started the discussion. If I don't agree with someone, I'm going to state my point of view. I kinda use "debate" rules - mostly like not reading something into what I've written that isn't there. And I do expect a little bit of the same in return. I know that people get very passionate about what they think is the only right answer, but other people have views too, and we don't have to agree. I have learned a lot of things in this forum - I mean good things about different aspects of life and people. And most of that was through discovering our differences, not just always talking to the people with the same views. When I ask something of someone I do so because I really want to know - not because I'm attacking their views. I guess I just like "discussion" not one-sided monologues.

Hey, I think this is a terrific idea! We have to rename myLot then. Call it, MY DIARY or something. =)

Yeah, I tend ton steer away from responding to controversial topics. I'm not here to get into heated debates. I'm here to learn new things and to have fun! Controversial debates isn't fun to me. I've also seen way too many people lose their star rating over such happenings, though CRASH said in a posting last week that this doesn't affect it, I tend to think it has something to do with it.

Eh, I'm not so worried about the star, although I did think I'd get some whammy to it last week. I just like chattin' to everyone about everything, not just what's inside my little space.

Well if you guys are going to talk about flowers and plants how about something really nice like wildwood weed? There was a song about that something about smiling and sittin on that sack of seeds? Anyone else remember that plant or have some growing out back?

Eh, sorry, not me... Maybe I should have said "talk about book" because I am so not flower oriented...

Well, I was pretty sure you were referring to a plant I have never had a use for - although we did have some growing in our yard once. Not really out back, but by my mother's tomato plants of all places. And she had no clue...

Hmmm the joke sort of flew over the windmill. I was trying to lighten the subject and failed miserably. Thats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
