Hi everyone, I am looking for people who have done or are doing this type of work. I have seen advertisements for "rebate processors." Anyone know anything about that, or know if they are legit? Start up is $150 on that one. I'm also thinking about taking some courses online, and getting into Medical Billing. Wanted to know what it is like. Positives and Negatives before I get too far into it. And lastly, I like to proofread. Anyone know any way to get your foot in the door with something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. B

As for the rebate processing, I've been looking, but I'm still really skeptical. It seems there are way too many "offers" that keep coming for that one. Online courses can be tricky. Most medical billing courses will teach you, but you need to get "re-taught" by each company you work for. The companies that offer job placement will usually only do it if you get "certified" through them. They need to make their money. Proofreading... this is definitely a legit opportunity, if you go the right route. First off, like most other jobs, you need to realize you should not "pay" to get a job. If they ask for a percentage of your earnings from the job you get through their services, that is another deal and totally legitimate. I proofread on occasion for oDesk. If you would like a referral (I can receive credit should you sign up...), please PM or e-mail me. There are other sites that offer free (to sign up) services for providing on-line job services. Just let me know. Other than that, good luck! We could all use it; it's a jungle out there!

Thank you Lisa, you gave such good advice. Alas, I really wanted to do the medical billing at home, not in an office somewhere. They even state that you can work at home from the start. What is oDesk? Thank you for wishing me luck--I think I'm going to need it! I would like to know about those other sites you were talking about too. B
