Why do people lie about what they make online

Hi,
When I talk to some business owners about how there business is going most of them tell me it is going great and that there earn 1000's a day (as a figure of speech ofcourse) with there business. But then after a few months there business dies and the website is taken down. When talking to them then they always tell me that it was going bad for a few months now. Why do they tell me that its really good at first en then confess it wasn't going well at all?

I feel the same way. If people were up front & honest we all would have better opportunites.

Hi mrsjbelle,
Thank you for your reply if all people where honest en up front what a wonderfull world this would be. I guess if people just tell they are having problems it would be a lot easier to help people out. So I try to be as honest as I can so people can help me solve any problems I encounter.
