I was watching MTV the other day and they had the song Teenagers by My Chemical Romance on. I agree that they should censor the word sh*t. Fine. I have no problem with that. But, they went a little bit too far with the censorship. The censored the word gun. Ok! Guns are a hot and touchy topic, particularly on that day as there had just been some school shootings. I might be willing to let that slide. But, one of the lines is "if you're troubled and hurt, what you got under your shirt, will make them pay for the things that they did." They actually blanked out the word "Shirt"! What? Are you kidding me? Since when is the word "Shirt" a curse word or in any way, shape or form, offensive. SHIRT SHIRT SHIRT! Uh oh! I better watch out! I wouldn't want to get in trouble for talking about a piece of clothing that everyone can see unless you cover it with a JACKET JACKET JACKET!

The United States is way beyond censorship happy. I remember when Political Correctness began in the earyly 80's, I knew it was bad then, and it has just gotten worse. Of course, America has always been censorship happy but that is another issue. Everything is about "protecting the children," um sorry this is life and reality, they need a reality check. And if parents don't want them too watch, see, or hear something they should exert some parental control. I am an adult. I want to hear and see and watch adult things. I hate censorsip, I hate political correctness. I think I'm turning french...

Can we turn French together? LOL! I agree! If I watch something adult, then I should be able to enjoy it in a very adult manner! I think that all TVs are equipped with parental controls now. So, they should be used! Why punish those of us many people without children to protect those who not only have children but also have the tools at their disposals to protect their children from adult content? Again...SHIRT SHIRT SHIRT!

I haven't watched TV in a while but I agree, that sure does sound like a load of shirt! Things have gotten out of hand with censorship. I wouldn't want a young child hearing a bunch of cuss words on TV either which is difficult with cable television these days but the word shirt? A show like "All in the Family" would never make it to the airwaves of network television with Archy Bunker spouting racist remarks these days. Such things are more than just entertainment, they open up a dialog within a family on important social issues. Who could possibly find the word shirt offensive and why?
