pizza or pasta? Italian true original meal

What's the real original italian meal?? pizza or pasta? as a matter of fact, i have been to italy some years ago, and to tell u the truth, Pizza was very tasty, lots of chesse and tomato sauce, slim and crunchy. Some people may not like it like that, instead they would have a jumbo mumbo pizza xl, but quality is better than quantity.
Pasta, on the other hand, is like an international thing, pastas are the same at china, NY, or Italy. what do u think?

I would have to say pasta in my own opinion. But I wouldnt know for sure since Ive never been to Italy. However growing up in movies and school or this or that they always said pasta was the italian meal.
