Would you eat food from a dumpster?

I have done before! I worked in a food factory (which also had a gigantic refridgerated section) which sorted food to be sent to Marks and Spencers, the famous UK shop. You would not believe the waste. Food which was four days before its sell by date - and which is not worth sending to the stores because it would be out of date by the time it got there - was dumped. If someone dropped a pack of 12 jars of coffee and one smashed, it was dumped. If someone dropped a pack of 12 bottles of olive oil and one smashed...it was dumped! You would not believe the stuff the factory threw away. Plants, toletries, all types of perfectly good food - lots of it stuck in a bin. And I took lots of stuff home! So I would, providing it was not rotten or had come into contact with rotten food. But in a desperate situation I would probably eat anything.

I did. I was homeless and hungry and it was the only way for me to survive. I have since changed my life and not in that situation anymore.
