Anorexia Nervosa in Teenagers...Who's to blame

I know a lot of people blame the media for the increase in anorexic teens. I agree. I mean what else can you expect when teen girls spend so much of their time watching size 0 models and celebs. But I also think that it is often brought about by family problems. Like self injury, many teens use anorexia to hide their feelings. In this generation, both of a child's parents often work, so a lot of teens probably feel ignored. The question I have is which is the bigger culprit. What do you think?

I also agree with you , that the media has a lot to do with it. They think being a size zero is beautiful but it isn;t I also think some of this is mental. The other part that I think can be the parents. Sometimes a parent is mentally abusive or is trying to push there child to far. I think those are the top 3 factors that can lead to it... Oh that and teenagers wanting to fit in so badly
