A teenager(18) was reported to have lost his eye after he was stabbed with a ball point pen by a female classmate. The girl"s mother however defended her daughter but later pleaded with the teenager"s father not to press charges. These days i wonder if the school is any longer a place to learn or a breeding place for gangsters. What can we do about these issue its getting too much now.with the rate of reports of wicked acts by teenagers in high school, what does the future hold for this world?

When my son was younger he had a kid pull a knife on him and hold him captive. Thanks to the local police (an elder cop) the situation was toned down and the kid never did face charges! We then decided to enroll our son in self defense classes...It helped.

Our values are changing and I still expect the violence to go up. I don't know which era you were brought up but in our time (and country Kenya - Africa) we wouldn't sit when an elder was standing, couldn't talk back to our elders (especially disrespectfully), but now we are stressing too much on children's rights! In our country teachers nowadays can't administer corporal punishment and now children have become more unruly.

violence is on the rise and i agree with you the most fearful thing about it is the way our kids are turning to it ,i was brought up in west africa and i was brought up just like you to be disciplined up till this day i still cant face up to do some of the things these kids do today

Apparently it's getting pretty bad. My duaghter attends a school on the military base and don't think it is better there either. They are however more proactive. My daughter told me yesterday that because a young man put a gang name on his notebook, he was suspended and will not be able to return until he purchases a new notebook. They do not tolerate that at all. If there is even a hint of gang activity by someone they will be removed. HOwever, it's still bad under the surface. Sometimes I wonder if we are just putting our kids into school to deal with a prison mentality. Why do our kids have to worry about getting shanked at school? Obviously there is something really wrong wtih this girl to have stabbed a young man in his eye. I just think it's ignorant and there is not any control left to authorities in our schools. Pretty soon it will be mob rules.
