my son was in a car accident. his worst injury is that he has a seperated shoulder. the doctor told us that he could do 3 things about this. 1 have a screw put in. 2 wrap it in medical tape. 3. leave it in the sling and let it heal on its own. have you or anyone you know had this happen? I know it's an injury that football players get when they slam into the ground on their shoulder (his worst in football were concussions) Any ideas or help on the best way to deal with this would be a great help!

If it was me I'd put it in a sling and let it heal. If it heals on it's own it's less likely to cause problems later. Good luck with it. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

The Orthopedic Surgeon had my son in a sling for a long time after his car accident....on occasion it bothers him (after lifting somethng heavy, usually) but that was the best alternative, I think for him.

Hi there! I'm glad to hear the only injury is a shoulder injury! He's lucky! Granted I do not have a seperated shoulder, but I do have a laseral tear in mine. I think a screw would be best It makes sure it gets fully healed - I do not think a sling will do any good!!!
