I have incurred into so much debt that I went to settle my accounts with DebtXS and I am wondering if this will affect my credit. They promise me they will pay-off my debts at the latest in two years. The collectors are calling my phone number to ask for a payment and I am referring them to my settlement program. How do you handle your credit cards debts?

Have you entered into a contract with DebtXS yet. If not, may I suggest that you don't until you have sought the services of a debt counsellor. DebtXS seem to be agents for you and that is about it. You will have to set up a savings scheme and administer it, all that they will do is talk to your creditors for you and charge you a monthly fee for the privilege. Try www.consumeraffairs.com/debt_counsel . They don't have debtXS on their list of bad guys, but there is a very helpful set of articles that you should read first. By the way, DebtXS say on their website that your credit rating is likely to be effected by arranging an agreement with your creditors. Take care.

I have already signed up a contract with DebtXS. This is my third month they have deducted a fee from my checking account. I hope they are a good company and I don't get sued by the credit card companies.

Presumably you are building up savings now, rather than paying off debt. When you reach savings of $X then you start to pay your creditors. So long as DebtXS have notified your creditors that that is what is happening you should be OK.

I paid off my credit card debt with a loan that I will pay off in two years. Problem is I will have to sacrifice myself for those 2 years because the payment is almost $500.00 a month. I am also left with one credit card for $2400.00 that I have to pay separate. I'm trying to save a little also for emergencies and medication. It's really hard, but you have to start somewhere. Don't pay attention to your creditors. Change your phone number!

That's the time it will take me to clear my debt too! We surely need to make sacrifices to get rid of our debt, hang in there and you will see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I too have lots of credit card debts and so far I could still manage and pay them for now. However, I always make a proint that I pay 2times the minimum payment due or more than the due to make sure that my debts are decreasing.

Having credit cards makes it to easy to get what you want...You get the item or items then think now I have to pay for it....I make the monthly payment plus some then I try to pay them off with my tax return...Or least a big chuck of them...

I cannot pay them with my income taxes because we pay our real estate taxes with that money and some for repairs and like this year we bought a lawn mower and a weed eater and paid a loan of $1,000 to his employer.
