Do posts increase for starting discussions?

I just noticed that today when i started a discussion my posts increased. How can posts increase on starting discussions?
Does it happen to you also? If it does then how much posts increase for starting one discussion?
please let me know as i havent understood this?

No, it only increase when you response. But once you start a discussion or give a comment... the number of post do not increase. i myself wonder why. But I guess thats the way it is here in mylot.
But I believe you still earn from it.
